Halo Halo - Cebu Sanctuary Recipe

Halo Halo is a famous dessert enjoyed in The Philippines. The name means "mix mix", which is inspired by its layers of juicy fruit and other ingredients that creates delicious textures. This recipe makes 2-3 servings and takes about 10-15 minutes.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup of shaved ice
  • 1 ripe large banana
  • 1 ripe mango
  • 1/4 cup ripe jackfruit
  • 1/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/8 cup firm gelatin, set into a gel and cut into 1/2 inch cubes
  • 1 scoop of ice cream, your choice
  • 1/4 cup of shredded coconut
  • 1/8 cup corn flakes

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cut the bananas, jackfruit, and mangoes into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Layer the fruit in a glass.
  3. Add the gelatin cubes on top of the fruit.
  4. Add 1/2 cup shaved ice.
  5. Pour evaporated milk over the top.
  6. Add in a scoop of ice cream.
  7. Sprinkle corn flakes & coconut flakes on top of the ice cream.
