In Uganda, local ankole cattle have been an important part of survival and culture for many tribes.  Local artisans purchase, clean, and shape the horns into beautiful jewelry and home goods. Our talented jewelry makers in Uganda love to work with this one-of-a-kind resource.

Our Knot collection is made from brass. Brass can be recycled many times over without diminishing the composition so the recycling process can continue time and again, thus making the metal highly sustainable.

Artisans in our Mumbai sanctuary handcraft each wall hanging from brushed textured brass. The brass wall hangings are custom designed and sourced locally in Mumbai, where our artisans finish the metal, assemble them, and polish to a high shine.

BREAD WARMERS

This bread warmer features a whitewashed terracotta stone that sits within a handwoven kaisa grass basket with palm wrap. Kaisa is a sturdy wild grass that dries from its natural light green to a pale almost tan color. Artisans cut kaisa grass from riverbanks during monsoon season, leaving the roots for next year's crop. The baskets are crafted by women in Bangladesh.
